2014 Will See Increased IHP China Certifications and Education

IHP China today announced that co-founder Ruben Payan has been appointed a Master Lecturer by the Institute for Human Performance (IHP) and its founder Juan Carlos “JC” Santana. The title designates Payan the credentials to teach all IHP functional training courses and certifications after successfully completing five years of rigorous apprenticeship, and an intensive eight-hour-per-day, five-day testing and practicum directly under JC’s tutelage.

Payan is the only IHP Master Lecturer to serve in Asia.

“I am quite pleased to name Ruben a Master Lecturer, and can think of no one more qualified,” said JC. “He has an impressive depth of knowledge and experience combined with a track record as a prolific innovator in the field of functional training and its systems. These qualifications make him an exceptional resource, instructor and guide for an up-and-coming generation of coaches and trainers.”

With his added credentials Payan will be stepping up IHP China’s curriculum starting in 2014 to include regular offerings of the IHP FT Instructor and Senior Instructor certifications, as well as the five IHP modality certifications. Starting in 2014, these certifications will be delivered on an ongoing basis via the IHP China headquarters in Beijing to better meet local market demand for functional training expertise and education.

“It’s great to now have the capacity to deliver certifications with the same frequency and consistency as they are offered at IHP headquarters in the United States. There is a growing demand for functional training education in China – and I am pleased that IHP China is better positioned to help meet it,” said Payan. “Having an IHP Master Lecturer on the ground is a continuation of our expansion and commitment to the market and coaches in China.”
